My name is Emma Elizabeth, and I will be turning 19 this summer. I always loved cooking since I was young, and developed a knack for desserts (especially cakes) a few years ago. It’s rather strange, as I don’t even like eating sweets–but I really love making them. I also find that it’s never a problem to find people to eat what I make, so everything works out in the end! 🙂
I decided to start a blog to share my recipes with pictures that are sure to convince you to try them out for yourselves. 😉 I also love writing, and creating art, so I thought a blog might be a great way to combine all of those hobbies!

Now a little about my life…phew! Where to begin? I was born in Quebec, but moved to Vermont when I was 7, so I consider that my home. I grew up on a small retreat center called Sky Meadow Retreat, and learned all my work ethics and cooking skills there. Me and my two sisters were homeschooled, so we got a very down to earth education.
When I turned 13 I started growing a real passion for music and composition, and at 17 I got accepted into music university. I’ve been studying there now for about a year, and I love it. Last semester however, I decided I needed a break from school, and drove out to California solo to go work on some farms and hike 500 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. Now I’m back, and ready to start one million projects over the summer: one being my blog!
If you think I sound crazy, I can’t argue with you, but, as I like to tell myself, crazy takes you on some of the most wonderful adventures! I have many stories to back me up!
Maybe you’re curious about my blog title; Dream Owl Cakes. Owls have always been a big part of my life. Ever since I was little I saw them constantly and they never ceased to humble me every time I was in their presence. Something about their majesty always fascinated me, and their symbol has been used for so much of my art… I decided to use their symbol again for my blog as they are a constant source of inspiration for me, and God knows I don’t want that to run dry halfway through the summer!
So there you go; a little about me! I’m hoping to be posting some recipes about once a week, and don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like to see me try at any recipe in particular!
